The idea of the Greater Des Moines Botanical Center was first formulated in spring 1929, but the stock market crashed. Since January 2004 the Des Moines waterworks have been under its control, and the facility has been known for several decades as the Des Moines Botanical and environmental center.

05. Salisbury House & Gardens
